  • Characters are woken up by a ruckus. C. Dundee and Number One go to investigate
  • Veronica Chee pushes her way through the crowd
    • She looks terrible -- bloodshot eyes, knotted hair
    • She is clearly showing symptoms of paranoia, and she yells, among other things, "Don't listen to their lies! They killed my husband! Stop them before it's too late!"
    • George Burroughs (priest) and Kris make it to the front to try and calm things down
    • Cops (Mary and George Jacobs) also make it to the front, try and grab Veronica

    • Cops and C. Dundee give chase, but she gets to her car

  • C. Dundee asks why they didn't tell anybody beforehand
  • Kris laughs and says that they had actually told some people who were supposed to spread the word, but they'd forgotten
    • Several people in the crowd (that the characters recognize from the neighbourhood) nod, looking embarassed
  • Crowd Disperses
  • C. Dundee invites the cops to grab coffee with him
  • Number One decides to use his archaeology skill to look around the church, see if there's anything noteworthy

    • Starts poking around, moving earth
    • Uncovers a hand, unnoticed by DtE
    • C. Dundee notices what Number One is doing, tries to signal him to stop (C. Dundee knows that David the Undertaker is lazy, buries bodies in shallow graves)
      • Number One doesn't notice, continues digging
    • C. Dundee excuses himself, runs over to David the Undertaker's house/office, tells him what's happening
    • David the Undertaker runs over to Number One, tells him to stop
    • Number One puts a marker in the ground and leaves, intending to come back later (haha)
  • David the Undertaker goes back to his office to check the foundation of his building, notices that there isn't even a foundation, it's built straight on the ground
    • Curses his father (who built the office, and who taught him how to dig a shallow grave) for his cheapness

      • Find a briefcase, locked, with a bit of a smell coming from it, they take
    • C. Dundee and David the Undertaker investigate the rooms

      • Some clothes and stuff are missing, looks like they were hurridly grabbed
      • Second room looks like a guest room, has an empty dresser, made bed, etc.
      • Third room is master bedroom, bed is unmade, floor is piled with clothes and junk, pillow has makeup stains on it

    • Says he interviewed Veronica, she was sure that everybody was out to get her
    • Players ask why he seems nervous
      • Was well aware that something fishy was going on, but is risking his job and pension by even pursuing this
